Yara M. Wahba

Yara is an associate in Burke’s Riverside office where she is a member of Burke’s Public Law Group. Yara advises cities and public agencies on a variety of code enforcement, municipal law, and constitutional law matters. She has experience prosecuting a variety of cases on behalf of public entities in areas of criminal and civil nuisance activity, and defending public entities in areas of constitutional law, civil rights litigation, and premises liability.

Prior to joining Burke, Yara served as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Riverside.

Yara earned her J.D. cum laude from Chapman University, Fowler School of Law, with an emphasis in criminal law. She received the 2019 Rutan & Tucker Golden Gavel award for appellate style oral advocacy and served as Chapman Law Review’s Senior Notes and Comments Editor. Yara received the CALI Excellence Award in Constitutional Law, Evidence, Criminal Procedure & Police Practice, and Equal Protection and First Amendment Law.
