Creating Workplaces and Practices Free From Gender Identity Bias

Jun 23, 2021

This MCLE-eligible workshop will focus on understanding the causes and forms of unconscious biases surrounding gender identity. Our panelists will discuss ways to reduce the biased behaviors that undermine organizational performance. They will also include an overview of transgender legal issues and the applicable laws and regulations. This workshop is designed to be interactive with questions and conversation encouraged.

Moderated by Albert Tong, a partner in Burke’s Oakland office, this program will feature four distinguished panelists who are active in the LGBTIQ+ space:

Janna Barkin, Parent of a Transgender Child | Coach | Educator | Author, He’s Always Been My Son
Suzanne Ford, Trans Activist Leader | Suzanne Ford Consulting
Anne Hawkins, Parent of Gender-Fluid Child | Criminal Law Attorney, Habeas Corpus Resource Center
Brad Sears, Professor, UCLA Law | Founding Executive Director, The Williams Institute
