Charles Abbott to Present Update on Dangerous Condition and Public Agency Torts to City Attorneys Association of Los Angeles County

Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP Litigation partner Charles H. Abbott will present ‘Annual Update on Dangerous Condition and Public Agency Torts’ at the March meeting of the City Attorneys Association of Los Angeles County (CAALAC) on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm PST via videoconference.  This one-hour MCLE-accredited seminar will analyze appellate decisions issued in 2024 and relating to Government Code Section 835 et seq. The program is accredited by the State Bar of California for 1.0 hours of general MCLE credit. Interested parties can register here. There is a $45 registration fee.

With over two decades as a civil litigator, Charles Abbott focuses on public-entity defense and appeals. He has first- or second-chaired over ten trials. Mr. Abbott argued Martinez v. City of Beverly Hills (2021) 71 Cal.App.5th 508, which requires a court to consider the location, extent, and character of the public property when analyzing whether the entity had constructive notice of the defect. He successfully defends public entities throughout southern California across a wide variety of litigated claims.
