Elaine Kobylecki is a Senior Associate with the San Diego office of Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Elaine represents clients in all stages of litigation in both state and federal courts.
With a decade of defense litigation experience, Elaine is experienced in commercial litigation, having counseled clients across numerous industries, including retail, consumer goods, construction, transportation and logistics, government contracting, and professional services, in a variety of matters including products liability, breach of contract, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and risk management.
Elaine is attuned to our clients’ needs as she navigates them through the challenges of each phase of the litigation cycle. She is committed to achieving the most favorable outcome on behalf of clients from both a legal and practical business perspective. Her broad-based litigation experience has enabled Elaine to be adept in handling a variety of discovery disputes. She has extensive deposition experience, having taken and defended over a hundred depositions as lead counsel, including plaintiffs, experts, treating physicians, and third-party witnesses. Elaine also has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution, having represented clients at mediations, mandatory settlement conferences, and early neutral evaluations.
Outside of the office, Elaine enjoys traveling, snowboarding and tennis.
- Lewis v. Electrolink Engineering Services, Inc. Obtained successful defense jury verdict on behalf of electrical engineering firm in a lawsuit brought by injured automobile factory worker claiming electrical shock and traumatic brain injury.
- Jenkins v. Avana North Hollywood. Obtained summary judgment on behalf of demolition subcontractor in a premises liability lawsuit brought by injured tenant.
- John Doe v. BBBSA. Obtained demurrer without leave to amend in a lawsuit brought by injured participant alleging decades of sexual assault..
- Rodriguez v. City of Santa Ana. Obtained successful dismissal of complaint on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, the City of Orange and two construction entities in a wrongful death action arising out of a pedestrian vs. motor-vehicle accident.
