Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP is seeking an associate attorney with 2 – 5 years’ litigation experience to join the Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s Oakland office.  This position will focus on constitutional law, civil rights, U.S.C. section 1983, excessive force, conditions of confinement, class action, and complex tort litigation primarily in federal court.  Prior civil rights experience preferred but not required.

The pay scale for associates at Burke ranges from $140,000 – $215,000 plus annual performance-based bonuses.  The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.

The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option and an annual telecommute budget to support remote work.  The firm’s billable hour requirement is 1850.  Attorneys receive competitive health insurance benefits and a 401(k) with a partial match, and are eligible for annual discretionary and billable hour bonuses.
